PS181

Accepts a native-only (non-dual-mode) DisplayPort™ input from an upstream source and provides a dual-mode DisplayPort™ output. This supports dual-mode DisplayPort™ video adapters (simple level-shifting type cable adapters) that output DVI or HDMI™ when connected to a dual-mode DisplayPort™ output. When a DisplayPort™ cable is connected to the output, it acts as a DisplayPort™ repeater/redriver, ensuring a compliant DisplayPort™ signal at the output receptacle.

The HDMI™ transmitter is HDMI 1.4b compliant and supports video formats with TMDS clock rates up to 300MHz (3.0Gbps TMDS data rate). It integrates both HDCP Rx and Tx keys for repeater applications. An integrated AUX channel to I2C bridge connection allows access to the DDC port of an HDMI™ /DVI display, allowing you to read EDID or access HDCP directly. Chip control is available through a dedicated I2C slave input, and an I2C master interface is available for external EDID and expansion functionality. Contains an on-chip microprocessor unit (MPU) that supports external SPI ROM updates via I2C or AUX channel commands.

PS186

DisplayPort™ v1.4a to HDMI™ 2.0b video interface converter ideal for cable adapters, docking stations, monitors, TV receivers, and other applications requiring video protocol conversion. The input is a DP v1.4a compliant upstream port that accepts audio and display data, and the output is an HDMI™ 2.0b compliant downstream port. In addition to accepting native DisplayPort™, it can also be driven with a USB-C® interface using DisplayPort™ Alt Mode. This is typically supported by USB-C® enabled devices such as Thunderbolt 3 devices and smartphones that include a video source or video passthrough.

Support for DP v1.4a allows it to accept compressed display data using DSC (Display Stream Compression) and link rates up to HBR3 (8.1 Gbps). Using a combination of DSC and HBR3, the PS186 uses two DisplayPort™ mains to provide full HDMI™ 2.0b output display resolution support, including 4K HDR at 24 bpp, 4K 60 fps 4:4:4 video mode. Requires only link lanes. This means only two USB-C® high-speed channels are required for DP Alt Mode, while the other two high-speed channels are available for Gen1 (5Gbps) or Gen2 (10Gbps) SuperSpeed USB data. , which brings benefits to USB-C® interface applications. This feature makes it ideal for USB-C® compatible docking stations, mini docks, or monitors that support both display and USB data.

It provides anonymous automated operation enabled by an integrated microprocessor that uses an inexpensive external SPI ROM for configuration and microcode. The SPI ROM can be field updated through the DisplayPort™ AUX channel or device I2C slave input. System control is also available through an I2C slave input, and an I2C master interface is available for external EDID and expansion functionality. Integrated HDCP Rx and Tx keys fully support both HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.3 content protection, including HDCP repeater functionality.
