Introducing the PS8650, a DP 2.1a MST hub controller for docks, accessories, displays and video cards

SAN JOSE, Calif.: September 4, 2024 – Parade Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-speed interface, video display and touch controller ICs, announced the launch of the PS8650 DP2.1a 1:4 MST hub controller for docks, accessories, video displays and DT/WS graphics cards requiring DP port expansion.

The PS8650 is VESA DisplayPort v2.1a compliant. The DP2.1a receiver supports MST (Multi-Stream Transport) and SST (Single Stream Transport) modes, up to 4 lanes at UHBR20Gbps link rate, DSC v1.2a decode and pass-through. Each of the four DP 2.1a transmitters supports up to 4 lanes at UHBR20 link rate, MST and SST modes, single video split, lane count/link rate conversion including DP2.1 MST to DP1.4 MST conversion, DSC decode and compressed video pass-through.
