In recent years, people have become more concerned about their health and environmental pollution, and an increasing number of companies and organizations are aiming to become carbon neutral. In order to promote environmental measures, environmental measurement devices are used to detect data such as CO2andtemperature. In these devices, environmental sensors first convert external environmental information into electrical signals, and the role of the operational amplifier is to accurately amplify these signals so that they can be processed appropriately.
The NL6012 is the Company most accurate operational amplifier to date, achieving an input offset voltage of 10µV max. and an offset voltage drift of 0.05µV/°C max. ■ Four features
1. Energy-saving performance and high DC performance

Zero-drift op amps feature low input offset with excellent stability against temperature changes. Zero-drift op amps achieve high accuracy by modulating the DC offset component, shifting it to a high frequency, and cutting it, which is called chopper-stabilized architecture. This cancels the input offset voltage and temperature drift. Temperature stability in particular is difficult to correct with a microcontroller, so it is an important characteristic in product design and production processes.

In recent years, energy conservation of electronic components has progressed, but reducing power consumption is a tradeoff with IC performance. The same is true for the chopper circuit inside Zero Drift, and in order to achieve high performance, it is necessary to improve the analog performance of the cancellation circuit itself. By finely optimizing the current inside the IC, the NL6012 has achieved high performance with an input offset voltage of 10μV max. while maintaining a low current consumption of 15μA. The NL6012 eliminates the need for adjustments to the customer's production line or automatic calibration of measuring instruments, contributing to improved work efficiency and reduced manufacturing costs.

2. High temperature stability

The NL6012 is a product with excellent temperature stability. The higher the temperature of general semiconductor elements, the more leakage current they generate. Although the leakage current is very small, in the case of low-power op-amps, it can lead to deterioration of IC performance, such as offset characteristics and current consumption. Therefore, suppressing leakage current at high temperatures leads to stabilization of the equipment. The NL6012 exhibits high characteristics even at high temperatures by implementing thorough high-temperature leakage countermeasures for each element of the op-amp.

3. High oscillation stability considering connection with ADC

Zero-drift op-amps amplify minute sensor signals without error and transmit the amplified signals to the ADC. Successive approximation (SAR) ADCs, which are widely used in industrial equipment, are becoming increasingly accurate, and in order to make the most of their original performance, the filter design connected to the input is important. This filter can have a large capacitance in some cases, which reduces stability in normal op-amps and causes oscillation. The NL6012 has high stability against a load capacitance of 1000pF, achieving low attenuation in input filter design and maximizing the performance of the ADC.

4. High EMC performance

The NL6012 has an EMIRR of over 100dB at 1.8GHz, which is mainly used in mobile phones, and this is equivalent to 1µV of offset voltage. The NL6012 has an EMIRR of over 80dB (converted to an offset voltage of 10µV) at 200MHz and above. This will help you in the robust design of IoT devices and other wireless devices.
