Microchip MPU product overview

The SAMA5D2 series is a high performance and ultra-low power Arm® Cortex®-A5 based microprocessor (MPU). The Cortex A5 processor runs up to 500MHz and features an Arm Neon™ SIMD technology engine, 128KB L2 cache and a floating point unit. It also supports multiple memories including the latest generation technologies such as DDR3, LPDDR3 and QSPI Flash. Connectivity (EMAC, USB, dual CAN, up to 10 UARTs, etc.) and user interface applications (TFT LCD controllers, projected capacitive and resistive touch controllers, class D amplifiers, audio PLL, CMOS sensor interfaces , etc.).

These devices offer advanced security features to protect customer code and secure external data transfers. Includes Arm TrustZone® technology, tamper detection, secure data storage, hardware encryption engine, on-the-fly decryption of code stored in external DDR or QSPI memory, secure bootloader and more. It also comes with a free Microchip Linux® distribution.

SAMA5D2 series product lineup. The number of IO supports from 72 pins to a maximum of 128 pins, and can flexibly respond to customer requests. We also offer SiP (System in Package) products equipped with DDR2 (128Mbit to 2Gbit).
