PolarFire FPGA Video Kit

Microchip's PolarFire Video KIT makes it easy to evaluate various interfaces.

- Evaluate CoaXPress and SDI interfaces by inserting a dedicated daughter card (sold separately)

 

The kit equipped with 300K logic element (LE) low-power FPGA "PolarFire"

It is ideal for mid-band (~12.7Gbps) imaging and video applications.

Introduction of interface

・MIPI CSI-2 RX Connector + Dual Camera Sensor

4K video data can be received from the included dual camera via the MIPI CSI-2 RX connector with the FPGA's general-purpose I/O.

 

・MIPI CSI-2 TX Connector

Data (4 lanes) and clocks can be output directly from the FPGA's general-purpose I/O.

 

・HDMI 2.0 RX

4K video data can be received from the FPGA transceiver port via the HDMI2.0 RX connector.

*Picture-in-picture (PIP) demonstration of HDMI output from a PC is also possible.

 

・HDMI 2.0 TX

4K video data can be output from the FPGA transceiver port via the HDMI2.0 TX connector.

 

・HDMI 1.4 TX

2K video data can be output from general-purpose I/O of FPGA via HDMI PHY.

 

・FMC Connector

It is connected to Bank4 and transceiver of PolarFire FPGA, and various I/F can be expanded and verified by inserting a daughter card.

*Currently available daughter cards are CoaXPress, SDI, and USXGMII.

 

・DSI (Display Connector)

Data (4 lanes) and clocks can be output directly from the FPGA's general-purpose I/O.

 

・USB-UART

USB-UART is programming with JTAG port via USB UART bridge (FT4232) and controlling RISC-V (Mi-V) with general-purpose I/O of FPGA.

 

・JTAG Programming header

FPGA programming is possible with On-board FlashPro5.

*FlashPro4/5: Download cable for Microchip FPGA.
