Security IC product overview

Microchip's security ICs can provide reliable security for any system. To protect authentication keys from threats, it is important to implement trust correctly in embedded systems from the beginning. To eliminate the creation of backdoors that allow key access, both the cryptographic primitive functions and the keys used to implement authentication schemes should be stored in containers that are secure by design. Microchip's Secure Elements are configurable companion devices that can be used next to a microcontroller or microprocessor.

They provide hardware-based cryptographic accelerators and secure key storage, along with tamper resistance and side-channel attack protection so that trust can be easily built into any system. Offering flexibility, advanced features, cost-effective architectures, and robust hardware defense mechanisms, security devices are excellent choices for designing and adding trust at scale. In addition to providing a secure container for authentication keys and credentials, it also provides a secure provisioning service.

"TrustPlatform" for the CryptoAuthentication™ family is a 3-tier service: pre-provisioned "Trust&GO", pre-configurable "Trust FLEX" or fully customizable "Trust CUSTOM", providing secure solutions for projects of all sizes. Easy to implement authentication. Microchip's secure manufacturing facility securely provisions keys into devices and ensures that keys are not exposed during provisioning at the manufacturer, during device field deployment, or throughout the life of the device.
