Basically, ceramic parts are fragile and require careful handling at production sites, but even if they are handled properly, they may not be able to withstand mechanical stress or stress on the board, which can lead to cracks. As a solution that significantly reduces the root cause of failure due to such cracks,FlexiCap™ is one of the effective options.

Significantly reduces the root cause of cracks caused by mechanical stress

When a board bending test was conducted under thesameAEC-Q200 test conditions for an X7R product with a standard electrodeand an X7R product with FlexiCap™ resin electrode applied, the standard product was able to withstand bending of2mm-3mm, while the product with FlexiCap™ applied was able to withstand bending of 8mm-10mm. This result shows thatthe FlexiCap™ resin electrode can significantly reduce the possibility of short circuits caused by cracks.
