Automotive CXPI Transceiver Product Overview
CXPI (Clock eXtension Peripheral Interface) is designed as the successor to the LIN (Local Interconnect Network) protocol. It is believed that the adoption of CXPI will lead to a reduction in the number of wire harnesses required in vehicles, leading to lower component costs and improved fuel economy/electricity costs through lighter vehicles.
Infineon's CXPI transceivers provide best-in-class low noise with quasi-sine wave generation, smart key band (100kHz-160kHz) noise reduction and optional SSCG (Spread Spectrum Clock Generator). This reduces the PCB design effort that must consider radiation effects. CXPI also incorporates a CSMA/CR system (Event Initiated System) in the LIN polling system, improving response time and scalability, significantly reducing HMI and development costs.
