High-capacity, high-reliability Infineon FRAM

Non-volatile memory is currently used in many electronic devices such as smartphones and computers. Modern products have long lifespans and many programs are rewritten.

We would like to introduce highly reliable FRAM that can meet the needs of such products.

Due to its high reliability, FRAM is also used in automotive products and medical equipment. Unlike SRAM and DRAM, it is a memory that uses ferroelectric materials, and the characteristics of the ferroelectric structure are that it can be written at high speed and operate with low power consumption.

Infineon has also developed its own ExcelonFRAM and has successfully expanded its functionality to up to 16Mbit and QSPI.

Features of Infineon FRAM

◆No battery required as it is non-volatile, and no capacitor required for writing.

◆Low power consumption: active current 2.4mA (typ), standby current 2.3μA (typ)

◆High Endurance: Up to 100 trillion rewrites

◆Long data retention period: up to 151 years of data retention

◆The ferroelectric structure is resistant to cosmic rays and gamma rays.

◆Writing is polarization movement, so high-speed writing takes about 1ns
