What is SEMPER™ NOR Flash?

Infineon's SEMPER™ NOR Flash family has a unique memory cell structure called "MIRRORBIT™" that enables high-capacity NOR Flash. MIRRORBIT™ applies a charge trap structure that makes it easier to increase memory density than the typical cell structure of floating gate, achieving "2 bits/cell" that stores 2 bits of data per memory cell, and is available in a lineup of capacities from 512Mbit to 1Gbit, 2Gbit, and 4Gbit.

In addition, by incorporating the CPU core "Arm® Cortex®-M0", a variety of self-diagnosis functions are realized, thereby achieving functional safety in accordance with the functional safety standards "ISO 26262" and "IEC 61508", and complying with ASIL-B. To further improve reliability and durability, the proprietary technology "EnduraFlex Architecture" is applied, which increases the rewrite endurance from about 100,000 times for general NOR flash to a maximum of 2.56 million times.

To achieve high-speed reads, it supports the serial interface standard "Octal SPI", Infineon's proprietary high-speed interface "HYPERBUS™" and Quad SPI, achieving a maximum read bandwidth of 400MB/s.
