Product introduction
SiPM photodiodes detect extremely weak light, even for distance measurement in medical equipment!
The SiPM is an array of avalanche photodiodes (SPADs) capable of detecting photons in the near-ultraviolet region and is designed to detect extremely weak light, including single photons.
It features a high photon detection efficiency of 55% at 420 nm, and has a cell pitch of 30um x 30um, and is available in single cell and array types.
Note: If you are using this with a PET-CT or X-ray detector, you will need to provide a scintillator separately.
Depending on the light source and application, hundreds to thousands of SPADs are connected in parallel to form a SiPM, and each SPAD contains a series resistor that suppresses the avalanche diode current and resets it for the next incoming light.
Signal output: Current proportional to the number of photons incident on the sensor
Signal characteristics: high gain (>1 x 106), fast response, and short recovery time
Applications: Scintillator-based detectors and time-of-flight systems, where low-light detection and very precise timing information is required

Its sensitivity ranges from the near ultraviolet (NUV) to the red wavelengths of the visible light spectrum, with a peak sensitivity of 430 nm.
