ToF

ToF employs an indirect method that emits light, receives the reflected light that returns after being reflected by an object, and measures the distance from the phase difference of the light.
The light emitted in distance measurement is invisible to the eye.

 

In recent years, many sensors have been required to be faster and more accurate, but Broadcom's ToF sensor features a maximum frame rate of 3 KHz and high-speed measurement. It is not suitable for image processing because it is an APD 4×8 and a maximum of 32 pixels.

 

In addition, the light-emitting part (850nm VCSEL) and the light-receiving part (APD: avalanche photodiode) are in one package, making it a relatively easy-to-use product.
