These small 3.2mm x 1.6mm ferrite beads offer low DCR and a wide impedance range, supporting a maximum rated current of 11A.
Riverside, California – June 1, 2026 – Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced the MH3261-T series of high-current chip ferrite beads, designed to address EMI suppression challenges in high-density PCB layouts with limited current capacity and board space. The series features a small 3.2mm x 1.6mm footprint, low DC resistance, and a maximum current rating of 11A, enabling noise suppression without excessive power loss. These features ensure stable performance even in space-constrained designs.
As power density increases and PCB assemblies become smaller, designers face increasingly stringent constraints on permissible insertion losses while maintaining effective high-frequency noise suppression. Ferrite beads used in such environments require the ability to handle higher currents without causing thermal overload or impedance degradation. The MH3261-T series meets these requirements by combining low DCR with a wide impedance range, supporting EMI control in high-density layouts while operating over a wide temperature range of –55°C to +125°C.
"For high-density power supply applications, ferrite beads are required that can handle high currents without compromising impedance characteristics or thermal margins," says Edward Liu, Product Line Manager for Component Magnetics at Bourns. "The MH3261-T series is designed to deliver low DC resistance and a maximum current rating of 11A in a small footprint, enabling EMI protection while maintaining operational stability across the entire temperature range of –55°C to +125°C, even in layouts with tight design constraints."
Main features
- High rated current capacity: Supports rated currents from 2A to 11A depending on the impedance value, making it suitable for use in high-current power lines.
- Low DC Resistance: Minimum DC resistance of 0.0025Ω suppresses power loss and temperature rise at rated current.
- Wide impedance range: Supports impedances from 30Ω to 1000Ω at 100MHz, enabling flexible EMI suppression according to application.
- Small and thin package: With dimensions of 3.2mm x 1.6mm x 1.1mm, it is ideal for high-density PCB layouts.
- Wide operating temperature range: Supports temperatures from -55°C to +125°C, including temperature rise due to rated current.
- RoHS compliant and halogen-free
