Significantly expanded MF-MSMF series extends holding current range up to 3.0A and increases maximum voltage to 60VDC - protecting a variety of low voltage DC port designs
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — December 1, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced the addition of 35 part numbers to its Multifuse® MF-MSMF PPTC resettable fuse series. These new models provide designers with a wider range of options for overcurrent and overtemperature protection designs, with holding currents (Ihold) up to 3.0A and voltages (Vmax) up to 60VDC.
Based on Bourns' innovative freeXpansion™ design, the new models incorporate advanced technologies that enable higher holding current, expanded voltage capability, and enhanced resistance stability, significantly improving resettable fuse performance in a space-saving, compact form factor. Additionally, the SMD terminals feature electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) plating for improved solderability, extended shelf life, and resistance to tin whiskers. These protection advancements are designed to address the increasing sensitivity requirements of low-voltage DC ports, such as those found in USB, HDMI, HDTV, PCs, notebooks, data centers, and portable consumer products. Bourns has implemented these improvements to its Multifuse® MF-MSMF fuses to meet the growing needs for reliability, efficiency, space savings, and uptime.
Bourns® Multifuse® Polymer PTC Resettable Fuses are recognized for their exceptional quality and reliability through key functional tests, including a 30-minute holding current test, a 100-cycle trip life test, and a 48-hour trip endurance test. Further rigorous evaluations, including a 1000-hour passive aging test, a 1000-hour humidity aging test, and a 20-cycle thermal shock test, further enhance reliability and minimize the risk of field failure.
The newly added 35 part numbers in the Bourns® Multifuse® MF-MSMF Series are currently available and are RoHS compliant(*1) and halogen-free.(*2) These fuses are UL/CSA/TÜV certified to meet safety standards, including IEC 62319-1, IEC 60738-1, and IEC 60730-1:2013 Articles 15, 17, and Annex J.
