RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- November 25, 2025 -- Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, introduces the Bourns® CRN Series thick film resistors. Designed for precise, reliable, low-ohm current sensing in a compact package, the CRN Series offers high power ratings up to 2W, supporting today's high-density power circuit designs. Additionally, the series utilizes lower-cost, lead-free metal thick film paste instead of carbon, and is RoHS (※1) compliant without exemptions, minimizing customer concerns about restricted substances.

These new resistors are available in a wide range of compact package sizes, from 0603 to 2512, allowing designers to choose resistance values from 47mΩ to 10Ω. Additionally, the series supports an operating temperature range of –55°C to +155°C and meets IEC 60115-1 test requirements for overload, operating life, solder heat, solderability, and board flex. The combination of low resistance, high power density, and environmental compliance makes the CRN series a robust and economical current sensing solution for a wide range of electronic designs, including battery charge management, battery management systems (BMS), low-voltage power supplies, industrial controllers, digital meters, and current measurement applications.

Bourns® CRN Series Thick Film Resistors are currently available and are RoHS compliant(*1) and halogen-free(*2).
