RIVERSIDE, Calif. — September 24, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, introduces the SRN5040TA-P series of semi-shielded power inductors. This new series features polarity control to optimize EMI protection in a wide range of automotive systems. Compliant with AEC-Q200, the automotive-grade products offer superior power management performance and thermal stability, meeting the stringent temperature and reliability requirements of advanced automotive systems, including DC-DC converters, power supplies, driver assistance, infotainment, and lighting systems.

The SRN5040TA-P series features a specially designed structure that suppresses magnetic field radiation, allowing it to handle high heat generation and saturation currents. It also supports a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, making it suitable for space-constrained automotive applications. The semi-shielded structure features a magnetic epoxy coating around the winding, providing superior EMI suppression and reduced magnetic field radiation compared to unshielded inductors.

The SRN5040TA-P series is currently available and is RoHS compliant (*1) and halogen-free (*2).
