New automotive-grade AEC-Q200 compliant models provide effective solutions for EMI suppression and noise filtering in power line and automotive system applications

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — September 15, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, today announced two new high-current common mode chokes, the SRF1206A-501Y and SRF1206A-172Y. These products are an extension of the AEC-Q200-compliant, automotive-grade SRF1206A series, designed to offer designers more impedance and current rating options. Offering high impedance across a wide frequency range, these chokes are effective solutions for EMI suppression and noise filtering in automotive switching power supplies and a variety of automotive, consumer, and industrial equipment.

These two products feature an integrated ferrite core with a magnetic closed loop structure, providing excellent magnetic shielding. The windings are sector-wound, designed to increase the insulation voltage between windings. Impedances range from 500Ω to 1700Ω, current ratings up to 10A, and operating temperatures from -40°C to +125°C.

The SRF1206A-501Y and SRF1206A-172Y are currently available as automotive-grade products that comply with AEC-Q200, are RoHS compliant, and are halogen-free.
