RIVERSIDE, Calif. — July 14, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announces the introduction of the CR01005A-AS Series of AEC-Q200-qualified, automotive-grade thick film resistors. This new product, an extension of the popular CR-A-AS Series, features an extremely small package size (0.4 mm x 0.2 mm x 0.13 mm) and a sulfur-tolerant design that complies with ASTM B-809 standards. This enhanced resistance to corrosion-related failure significantly contributes to improved system stability, reliability, performance, and robustness, while also reducing potential downtime.

The CR01005A-AS series' features and ultra-small package enable further miniaturization of electronic devices without sacrificing performance or reliability. This allows for increased component density on a board, enabling additional functionality and reducing overall device size. Other features include a wide resistance range from 1Ω to 1MΩ, a resistance tolerance of 1% to 5%, and a minimum TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) of ±200 ppm/°C. These design features make the CR01005A-AS series ideal for applications requiring compact size, high reliability, and operation in harsh environments. Examples include transportation equipment, wearable devices, smartwatches, fitness trackers, and smartphones.
