New models reduce magnetic field emissions and offer a cost-effective alternative to ferrite-based fully shielded inductors
Riverside, Calif. — July 10, 2025 — Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, announced the expansion of its semi-shielded power inductor product line. Five new product series have been added to the existing Bourns® SRN-BTA series. These new products offer increased maximum inductance values, including models that double the previous inductance, and reduced magnetic field emissions, providing a cost-effective alternative to fully shielded ferrite-based inductors. The semi-shielded construction combines the benefits of both unshielded and shielded inductors, providing a robust and reliable solution for demanding power applications.
The new models added to the SRN-BTA series feature a bottom-soldered lead structure, improving mechanical strength and stability, and enhancing product reliability. These models are suitable for applications requiring high-power inductors in consumer, industrial, and communications equipment, such as automotive systems, DC-DC converters, and power supply circuits. This improvement offers multiple benefits, including improved magnetic properties and efficiency.
The Bourns® SRN2010/2510/3010/3015/4018BTA series power inductors are currently available and RoHS compliant. These models are AEC-Q200 compliant, automotive-grade, and meet the rigorous quality standards required for automotive applications. Additionally, the products are manufactured in Bourns' IATF16949 certified manufacturing facilities.
