The latest PWR series helps improve the reliability and stability of discharge/precharge circuits in solar power generation and motor control applications

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- January 6, 2025 -- Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, introduces its newest SMD wirewound resistor series. Featuring high power ratings (up to 10W) and high pulse withstand capabilities, the Bourns® PWR6927/8030/8937/A247/B053 series are designed to help designers seeking improved reliability and stability in discharge and pre-charge circuits used in solar power, motor control, communications, switched mode power supplies (SMPS) and energy storage systems (ESS) applications.

Based on advanced SMD architecture and high surge immunity, the series offers a low inductance solution that reduces magnetic field interference compared to standard through-hole, thick film, thin film and traditional wirewound resistors. Additionally, the series is UL 94V-0 and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) compliant, helping to meet safety requirements for a variety of applications.

The Bourns® PWR6927/8030/8937/A247/B053 series is available now and is also offered in RoHS (※1) compliant and halogen-free (※2) options.

※1:RoHS Directive 2015/863, Mar 31, 2015 and Annex.

※2:Bourns considers a product to be "halogen free" if (a) the Bromine (Br) content is 900 ppm or less; (b) the Chlorine (Cl) content is 900 ppm or less;
       and (c) the total Bromine (Br) and Chlorine (Cl) content is 1500 ppm or less.
