Riverside, Calif. – December 2, 2024 – Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, introduces the Riedon™ SSA - 2 Series shunt sensors. These shunt sensors provide a highly accurate current sensing solution with greater operational stability compared to typical Hall effect sensors. The series is designed to provide immunity to stray magnetic fields, which can disrupt sensor operation in sensitive electronic devices, causing inaccurate readings, device failure and even safety hazards. Additionally, the SSA - 2 series meets the requirements for unipolar power sources, making it an excellent measurement choice for a variety of battery-related current sensing applications, including large energy storage banks, renewable energy generation infrastructure, industrial motor drives, building automation systems and fuel cells.

The SSA - 2 series features an innovatively designed analog Hall effect current sensor that is insensitive to temperature drift and achieves ±0.1% detection accuracy and ±0.1% linearity over the full current range. The sensor's low noise resolution and offset performance also enable accurate low current measurement, providing excellent gain and linearity over the full temperature range. The series supports wide AC and DC bandwidths and has a nominal current range from 100A to 1000A, making it suitable for a variety of environments and market applications.
