Riedon™ SSD - 500A Shunt Sensor offers a high accuracy 24-bit isolated current sensor with CANbus or RS-485 interface options.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- December 2, 2024 -- Bourns, a leading manufacturer of electronic components for power, protection and sensing solutions, announces the release of the Riedon™ SSD - 500A shunt sensor with a nominal current of 500A. The expanded electrical rating enables designers to use a power supply voltage of 24V (15mA typical) to meet the precision measurement requirements of a broader range of battery-related applications, including large energy storage banks, renewable energy generation infrastructure, industrial motor drives, building automation systems and EV charging stations.
The SSD - 500A series features advanced digital DC shunt-based current sensors that provide superior accuracy, stability and electrical isolation in certain harsh industrial environments. The series also features an integrated 24-bit AD converter that provides plug-and-play simplicity, allowing designers to quickly add highly accurate current measurement to new designs or retrofit existing designs. These shunt-based sensors also eliminate the need for periodic calibration of the device, contributing to efficient use of power. For greater design flexibility, the SSD - 500A series is available with RS-485 and CANbus interface options.
Riedon™ SSD - 500A Series shunt sensors are RoHS* compliant.
