These resistors feature high power ratings, low temperature coefficients (TCRs), wide resistance ranges, and wide temperature ranges. To support these advanced features, Bourns offers the 11 product series in a variety of technologies. Select products are available in a number of package options, including wirewound through-hole and surface mount, surface mount metal film and bare/coated metal element resistors. Bourns designed this set of technologies and package options to help designers working in multiple system domains address virtually any space or manufacturing assembly requirement.

These resistors offer precision resistance tolerances and low TCR, contributing to lower power consumption designs and greater stability. Some series feature non-inductive windings that reduce parasitic inductance and minimize attenuation in fast switching circuits. Additionally, some ceramic wound resistor models are flame retardant for increased reliability in certain harsh conditions. Applications such as battery energy storage systems, industrial power supplies, motor drives, smart meters, communications 5G remote radio and baseband units, and current sensing are good examples of systems that can benefit from the advanced features and breadth of products offered by Bourns' Riedon™ power resistor product series.
