The APS13290 and APS13291 are 3-wire planar Hall effect sensors suitable for operation over a wide temperature range (up to 125°C).

This precision Hall effect latch series is ideal for consumer and industrial applications and features improved performance enabling high temperature operation up to junction temperatures of 175° C. Additionally, the APS13290/1 includes many features specifically designed to maximize system robustness, including reverse polarity protection, output current limiters, overvoltage and EMC protection.

A single silicon chip contains a voltage regulator, Hall plate, small signal amplifier, chopper stabilizer, Schmitt trigger and a short circuit protected open drain output. A strong enough negative magnetic field is required to turn the output on. A strong enough positive magnetic field is required to turn the output off. It has on-board transient protection on all pins and can run directly from the vehicle battery or regulator with supply voltages from 2.8V to 24V.

There are two package styles available that provide a magnetically optimized package for most applications. The LH type is a small SOT23W low profile surface mount package and the UA type is a 3-pin SIP for through-hole mounting. Both packages are lead (Pb) free with 100% tin leadframe plating.
