The A31315 is a robust, fully integrated 3DMAG™ Hall effect magnetic position sensor IC designed to support a wide range of contactless rotation and position measurements in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

This series of sensors integrates vertical and planar Hall effect elements to detect two of the three magnetic field components (X​,​ ​Y, Z). With configurable signal processing, linearization and angle calculations, the A31315 accurately measures the absolute rotational (full 360° and short stroke <360°) or linear position of a moving magnetic target.

The A31315 has the option of a ratiometric analog, PWM or SENT (SAE J2716) interface and can output either the angle between two factory selected axes or a field from a single axis. Additionally the SENT interface has the option to output field measurements from both channels.

Developed according to ISO26262 and qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 0, the sensor is suitable for the most demanding safety in-vehicle systems, including transmission and powertrain actuators, pedal position, brake cylinder position, gear shifters, electronic throttles, etc. The A31315 performs in extreme conditions where other sensors fail.

The A31315 is available as a single die in a SOIC-8 package and as a stacked dual die in a TSSOP-14 package for applications requiring full redundancy.
