Ideal for GaN/SiC FET designs: XtremeSense™ TMR current sensors enable high-precision power conversion control in EVs, clean energy, and data centers.

Manchester, New Hampshire, USA – October 21, 2025 – Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGM), a global leader in power and sensing solutions for motion control and low-power systems, announced the industry's first* production-ready magnetic current sensor with a 10MHz bandwidth. The ACS37100 utilizes Allegro's proprietary high-performance XtremeSense™ TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) technology. The ACS37100 helps improve accuracy and maximize performance in control signal chains in power conversion systems supporting high-speed switching with GaN and SiC FETs. Optimized for applications such as EVs (xEVs), clean energy power conversion systems, and AI data center power supplies, it delivers an industry-leading 50ns response time. It provides high-fidelity current data for optimal efficiency and protection in high-frequency applications.

While the transition to GaN and SiC brings improvements in power density and efficiency, their high-speed switching characteristics present significant challenges to control systems. In the sub-megahertz frequency range, conventional magnetic current sensors lack sufficient response speed and accuracy, failing to provide the high-fidelity real-time data necessary for stable control loops and protection functions. As a result, advanced power conversion systems are not only at risk of damage but may also be unable to perform at their full potential.

The ACS37100 is a current sensor designed to solve these control challenges. With industry-leading bandwidth and response speed, it provides high-fidelity current feedback essential for control loops in high-speed switching applications. This magnetic current sensor enables designers to reliably and steadily control high-speed systems, maximizing efficiency and power density. Leveraging advanced TMR technology, the ACS37100 achieves an extremely low noise level of 26mA RMS across the entire 10MHz bandwidth. This enables fast and highly accurate current measurement, significantly improving system responsiveness and control precision.

"The ACS37100 represents a significant turning point in the evolution of magnetic current sensors. the Company TMR technology delivers 10 times faster response times and a quarter of the noise level compared to conventional Hall element-based products," said Matt Hein, Director of Current Sensors at Allegro. "This performance improvement addresses key challenges, particularly in high-voltage power conversion using wide-bandgap semiconductors."

The ACS37100 is designed to maximize operational efficiency and reliability while minimizing energy loss, making it an ideal current sensor for a wide range of automotive and industrial applications, including xEV charging, clean energy power conversion, and AI data center power supplies.
