Koshian 5 Bluetooth® 5.0 Module (konashi 5 Compatible) Overview

The Koshian series, an ultra-compact Bluetooth development kit for Makers, updates to Bluetooth 5.0 as "Koshian 5". This product also supports MESH, expanding new ways of using it. Koshian 5 is a Bluetooth module equipped with Silicon Labs' BGM13S22F256 (Technical Conformity Mark, FCC certified) and original firmware. By connecting Koshian 5 to Yukai Engineering's konashi 5 baseboard, you can easily expand the sensors and interfaces as konashi 5. By using Koshian 5, users can easily develop IoT products using Bluetooth 5.0 and MESH.

Koshian 5 is based on the combination of Yukai Engineering's original konashi 5 FW and the development environment provided by the company.

The above website has a manual that conforms to konashi pin assignments. When operating Koshian5 alone, please refer to the pin assignment table attached at the bottom of this page.

Koshian 5 on konashi 5 Base

Koshian 5 can also work as the main chip of Yukai Engineering konashi 5. The konashi 5 base board is equipped with sensors for temperature, humidity, illuminance, motion detection, acceleration, and gyro, and you can easily collect sensor data using the MESH function with a smartphone or RaspberryPi.
You can use Koshian 5 for prototyping small Bluetooth IoT devices, and konashi 5 for those who want to easily experience IoT using sensors.

Pitch conversion board for Koshian 5

Switch Science has started selling a pitch conversion board for the Koshian 5!

This is a board that converts the signal from the Koshian 5's external connector into a 2.54mm pitch.

It also has a Qwiic terminal, so you can connect sensors that are compatible with Qwiic or STEMMA QT.

This board meets the needs of those who want to use Koshian 5 in a smaller form factor with only the necessary functions.

It is also useful when you want to insert the Koshian 5 into a breadboard.
