DEVPACKM-RS232 is an expansion board for SensorTag from Texas Instruments (TI). It is possible to convert the information acquired by the SensorTag into an RS232C serial signal and output it, or to input RS232C serial data from the outside.
It can also be used to operate the SensorTag with external power supply *1 from USB in applications where battery life is a concern.
*1Batteries must be inserted in the SensorTag even when USB power is supplied.

Acquisition of environmental data using SensorTag
The CC2650 installed in the CC2650STK (SensorTag) is a wireless microcomputer that supports multi-protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ZigBee. SensorTag is equipped with 10 sensors such as temperature, humidity, illuminance, atmospheric pressure, and acceleration, and you can acquire sensor data using BLE in the standard demo.
The standard SensorTag works as a peripheral, but it can also work as a central by developing F/W. By connecting multiple SensorTags for central operation and SensorTags for peripheral operation, you can acquire sensor data from each SensorTag.
In addition, by implementing a log output function via UART in the central operation SensorTag and using DEVPACKM-RS232, the acquired sensor data can be output to RS232C. This makes it possible to visualize sensor data by connecting a PC or a modem device with RS232C.
