Overview

The Beryll Board is an evaluation board featuring the Cyclone® V GX FPGA. By using this kit, customers can evaluate various functions of Cyclone® V GX FPGA before designing their own products.

In addition, this kit is equipped with various interfaces and connectors for interface expansion, so it can be used as a jig for product evaluation. As for the external memory interface, it is used in many situations such as evaluation of DDR 3 hard memory controller mounted on FPGA, interface evaluation by expanding various daughter cards to HSMC, and use as a product evaluation environment as a jig. We will help you with your development.

FPGA

Beryll's Cyclone® V GX FPGA is a low-cost FPGA using Intel's 28nm process technology. Equipped with 40% lower power consumption than conventional products, a new internal architecture, and a transceiver capable of transmitting performance bandwidths up to 3.125 Gbps, it contributes to reducing the total cost of your system and improving system performance.

Beryll has DDR3 SDRAM, SRAM and FLASH. By using these, it is possible to implement the embedded processor IP core Nios® II, develop prototypes for various embedded equipment products, and use them as jigs.

Supports multiport memory controller hard IP blocks

Beryll supports multi-port memory controller hard IP blocks from Cyclone® V FPGAs. The hard memory controller includes command/data reordering and lookahead bank management to reduce idle cycles and increase throughput. This makes it possible to improve and optimize the performance of the entire system.

Beryll is equipped with various interfaces such as USB 2.0 , Ethernet , RS-232C, 24bit Audio Codec, HSMC and interfaces for expansion. By using these interfaces, the customer can use this board as a pseudo circuit evaluation or jig for the final product.

It is possible to carry out various demonstrations using Beryll. It is possible to carry out various demonstrations using image processing software and FPGA IP cores designed by Macnica.

USB2.0 video class demonstration

You can see a reference demonstration of HDMI to USB 2.0 uncompressed SD video streaming (480p / 60ps) incorporating the USB video class driver developed by Macnica. You can also purchase the board and driver used in this demo. We also offer contracted development according to customer requests. Please feel free to contact us.
