W35N Octal NAND flash is the industry's first 8 I/O serial NAND flash memory. Leveraging this innovative interface, it achieves an astonishing read data throughput of up to 240 MB/s with sequential read mode enabled, making it the fastest serial NAND flash on the market. This performance is essential for high-speed code shadowing and enables fast Over-The-Air (OTA) firmware updates with minimal downtime.

The maximum CLK frequencies supported are STR 166MHz and DTR 120MHz. To ensure robust system stability, it features built-in ECC for enhanced data reliability and a bad block management lookup table (BBM LUT) for simplified and faster bad block management. Furthermore, it employs buffered read mode and continuous read mode to maximize data transfer efficiency, providing an excellent solution for high-performance applications.

W35N octal NAND flash is an ideal replacement for serial NOR flash, offering hardware compatibility and eliminating the need for board relayout. It is perfect for a wide range of advanced industrial and automotive applications.

Winbond's Octal NAND Flash supports high densities of 1Gbit or more and achieves high-speed readout with the industry's first x8 interface.

   

This provides automotive and industrial equipment manufacturers with a cost-effective alternative to expensive NOR Flash, providing high-density code storage.

 

This is where Octal NAND has a significant advantage, especially since NOR Flash has difficulty scaling at densities above 512Mbit.

Octal NAND offers the highest level of read throughput performance among embedded NAND flash memory.

The first product equipped with the new interface, the W35N01JW (1Gbit), achieves a maximum sequential read throughput of 240Mb/s, approximately three times faster than the previous high-performance W25-JW quad-serial NAND Flash family.

  

In addition, Octal NAND Flash boasts erase speeds up to 400 times faster and write speeds up to 50 times faster than serial NOR Flash, making it an ideal solution for OTA (Over-The-Air) updates.

 

W35N-JW Octal NAND Flash is manufactured using Winbond's proven 46nm single-level cell (SLC) NAND process, providing superior data integrity and data retention performance of over 10 years.

Additionally, it is rated for 100,000 program/erase cycles. It is compatible with 10Gb/s and provides the high durability and reliability required for mission-critical automotive and industrial applications.
