Features of LED Flash Driver "LM36010"

The LM36010 is an LED flash driver provided by Texas Instruments (hereafter TI).

In flash mode, it can drive a maximum current of 1.5A within 1.6 seconds, making it ideal for surveillance cameras that require the necessary brightness in a short period of time.

In addition, current control is possible from 2.4mA to 376mA in torch mode. Therefore, it is also suitable for mobile devices that require high efficiency.

The LM36010 has the following major features and benefits.

1. Drive LED flash current up to 1.5A for short duration

Utilizing 2MHz and 4MHz synchronous boost converters, the LM36010 can drive LED flash currents ranging from 11mA to 1.5A within 1.6 seconds.

Therefore, an LED flash with the required brightness can be achieved in a short time.

2. Only 7mm2 ultra-small package, minimum board area required for mounting

The LM36010 is an 8-pin ultra-small DSBGA package.
Since the package size is 7mm2, it can be mounted in a small board area.

3. Easy control with "I2C" interface

1. Prepare and connect the necessary equipment

The following equipment is required for evaluation.

  • 1 PC for development
  • LaunchPad (MSP432) microcontroller board
  • LM36010EVM Evaluation Kit


Connect the PC and the microcomputer board with a USB cable.
The MCU board and LM36010EVM evaluation kit can be connected via an I2C interface.

2. Start evaluation
