"TIOL111-5" transceiver compatible with IO-Link standard

TIOL111-5 is an IO-Link transceiver provided by Texas Instruments.

IO-Link is an I/O connection technology standardized in "IEC 61131-9".
In the past, serial communication and analog/digital signals were mixed for each sensor and actuator in factory equipment, and there were issues such as troublesome wiring and difficulty in identifying abnormal locations.

By adopting IO-Link in factory equipment, digital two-way communication can be performed seamlessly.

The industry's smallest thermally enhanced IO-Link package. It can also be used in applications with limited space.

3. Integrated surge protection reduces external components

A TVS diode for surge protection is built into the chip. The number of parts can be reduced, and the mounting area can be reduced.

4. Easy connection with microcomputers through simple communication

A simple interface that can be controlled by pin H/L makes it easy to connect to microcomputer circuits.

The TIOL111-5EVM enables rapid development of IO-Link systems using the TIOL111-5.

This evaluation board can be evaluated immediately by following the steps below.

  1. Connect the IO-Link cable to IOLink on the evaluation board.
  2. Connect the evaluation board to a DC power supply. Monitor the CQ signal on an oscilloscope or connect it to a test load.
  3. Allows the evaluation board to drive the TX and EN inputs and measure the RX, WAKE, and NFAULT outputs.
