Features of the TPS25810
The TPS25810 is a DFP controller with built-in power switch provided by Texas Instruments. It is possible to supply a maximum of 3A of current specified by Type-C.
The TPS25810 has three major features.
1. Determine USB device connection to USB Type-C and supply power
The power switch TPS25810 monitors the USB CC channel to monitor USB device connection and determine power supply on/off. The current supply stops immediately when the connection is broken.
2. Standby current consumption is 0.7μA
Low power consumption of 0.7μA when no USB device is connected.
3. Ultra-compact package size
The package is an ultra-small package of 3mm x 4mm (QFN).

Step 1. Power up the evaluation module
The evaluation module TPS25810EVM-745 has two power supply methods that can be selected by the user.
- Supplying power from the AC adapter
- Supply power from terminal block (J10, J12) of TPS25810EVM-745
Step 2. Connect a USB (Type-C) device to the evaluation module
Connect a USB device to the J3 connector on the evaluation module.
You can visually check the connection status with the LED.
