Sensor Seminar Appears at Texas Instruments Workshop!

Macnica Fuji Electronics holds multiple seminars on power supplies and analog products from Texas Instruments (hereinafter referred to as TI). Among them, we would like to introduce a sensor seminar for beginners held in February 2018.

In the well-received TI sensor product introduction, we learned about the TI sensor products that are often inquired about in the IoT field, from the sensor product portfolio to the characteristics and application examples of each sensor.

We will introduce several methods used in proximity sensing technology as non-contact sensors.
Among them, the detection principles, configuration examples, and merits of inductive sensors, capacitive sensors, and ultrasonic sensors, which are particularly frequently inquired about, are explained in detail using materials.

We received many questions about how the products and solutions that the students are considering to introduce can actually be used, and there was a scene where the lecturer answered each case.

Next time you can experience 5 types of sensor demos

In the questionnaire on the day, we received the following opinions.
“It would be great if there was an opportunity to experience the accuracy and distance at which sensing is possible using an actual product.”
“If you actually see the demo and have time to touch it, you will have a deeper understanding.”

Based on what we learned from the previous seminar, we will prepare demonstrations using 5 types of sensors next time so that we can better meet everyone's expectations.

Actual sensor evaluation board

Each sensor evaluation kit is prepared for the demonstration, and you can see how the value detected by the sensor changes on the GUI of the PC or on the oscilloscope while actually touching the demonstration unit.

The objects that can be detected, accuracy, and distance differ depending on each sensor.
