Sensor Seminar Appears at Texas Instruments Workshop!

Macnica Fuji Electronics holds multiple seminars on power supplies and analog products from Texas Instruments (hereinafter referred to as TI). Among them, we would like to introduce a sensor seminar for beginners held in February 2018.

Introduction of sensors active in IoT

In the well-received TI sensor product introduction, we learned about the TI sensor products that are often inquired about in the IoT field, from the sensor product portfolio to the characteristics and application examples of each sensor.

Speaking of TI, I think that many people have an image that it is strong in microcomputers such as the MSP430 for beginners, and power supply and analog products. TI can handle a wide range of products from sensing to data transfer, and has a large number of representative sensor products for IoT and industrial equipment.

Proximity sensing technology attracting attention now

We will introduce several methods used in proximity sensing technology as non-contact sensors.
Among them, the detection principles, configuration examples, and merits of inductive sensors, capacitive sensors, and ultrasonic sensors, which are particularly frequently inquired about, are explained in detail using materials.

From "information gathering" to "considering how to use it" phase

We received many questions about how the products and solutions that the students are considering to introduce can actually be used, and there was a scene where the lecturer answered each case.

Most of the participants had an image of actual design and introduction rather than just collecting information, and it was time to realize the penetration of sensing technology.

Based on what we learned from the previous seminar, we will prepare demonstrations using 5 types of sensors next time so that we can better meet everyone's expectations.

Each sensor evaluation kit is prepared for the demonstration, and you can see how the value detected by the sensor changes on the GUI of the PC or on the oscilloscope while actually touching the demonstration unit.

The objects that can be detected, accuracy, and distance differ depending on each sensor.
