What is DEVPACKM-RS232-II?
DEVPACKM-RS232-II is an expansion board developed by Macnica for the evaluation kit "SensorTag" of Texas Instruments products (hereinafter referred to as TI products). By setting this product to a SensorTag, it is possible to output information from the SensorTag as a serial signal (BLE to RS232C).

For the SensorTag set to DEVPACKM-RS232-II, we have an overview and sample of F/W for BLE Central. Multiple SensorTags can be connected and used as peripherals.

What is DEVPACKM-RS232-II?
DEVPACKM-RS232-II is an evaluation board developed by Macnica for SensorTag. It is assumed that the SensorTag series of TI products will be evaluated. By using this kit, it is possible to "convert BLE to RS232C" as an expansion board for SensorTag.
*Wi-Fi and Sub-1GHz SensorTag will be released by TI in the future, and will be supported by this kit.

Application example using DEVPACKM-RS232-II
Acquisition of environmental data using multiple SensorTags
The standard SensorTag operates as a peripheral (sensor data transmission side), but by developing F / W, it can also operate as a central (data reception side), so the SensorTag that operates centrally as shown in the figure below You can connect multiple SensorTags of peripheral operation and acquire the sensor data of each SensorTag.
With this configuration, it is possible to implement the log output function via UART in the central operation SensorTag and output the acquired sensor data to RS232C by using DEVPACKM-RS232-II. This makes it possible to communicate with devices that have an RS232C interface, such as PCs and modems, making it possible to visualize sensor data.
