Sliver is a cable connector provided by TE Connectivity that can connect between boards with high speed communication.

High density and slim shape with 0.6mm contact pitch allows flexible cable routing even in limited spaces.

In addition, it is a cable connector that supports up to 25Gbps due to low signal loss.

Sliver has the following four major features.

  1. Can be used with multiple protocols such as PCI express, SAS, and Ethernet
  2. Ultra-thin design with 0.6 mm pitch, increasing the capacity inside the Box
  3. High connection reliability due to the latch mechanism
  4. Possible to connect according to various cases

Each feature is explained below.

1. Can be used with multiple protocols such as PCI Express, SAS, and Ethernet

With conventional PCB connectors, signal degradation occurs in high-speed communication, and smooth transmission is not possible. Cable Connector Sliver can achieve speeds up to 25 Gbps using TE Connectivity's high speed cables.

Sliver supports the following protocols.

  • PCIe Gen3/4 (8G, 16G)
  • SAS-3/4 (6G, 12G, 24G)
  • Ethernet protocol (10G, 25G per lane)
  • InfiniBand (28G)
  • Custom protocol (up to 32 G/per lane)

2. Ultra-thin design with 0.6 mm pitch, increasing the capacity inside the Box

Sliver has a high density and slim shape with a 0.6mm contact pitch, so it can be connected in a small space.
This allows for increased capacity within the equipment Box.

3. High connection reliability due to latch mechanism

Sliver has plenty of pull strength as the connector has a metal housing that withstands the pull of the cable.
Therefore, high connection reliability is realized.

4. Possible to connect according to various cases

Sliver can be expanded in units of 8 differential signal pairs to support multiple interconnections such as device-to-device connection, board-to-board connection, and connection with high-speed cards.

  • 16 DP (50 pins)
  • 24 DP (74 pins)
  • 32 DP (100 pins)
  • 40 DP (124 pins)
  • 48 DP (148 pin) card edge only
