Wireless power supply reference kit ROHM-760308MP-EVK-001 that acquired the world's first Qi EPP standard certification
ROHM-760308MP-EVK-001 is a wireless power supply reference kit provided by ROHM.
ROHM-760308MP-EVK-001 is equipped with the following two ICs to realize wireless power supply.
- Wireless power transmission IC: BD57020MWV
- IC for wireless power supply reception: BD57015GWL
ROHM-760308MP-EVK-001 is equipped with a low-power microcomputer made by LAPIS Semiconductor in addition to the wireless power supply IC.
You can easily realize wireless power supply conforming to the Qi standard by using the power transmission side board and the power reception side board.
ROHM's wireless power supply has the following features.
1. World first! Acquired Qi EPP standard certification for both power transmission and reception
Qi is an international standard established by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), and is a wireless power supply standard for low power of 15W or less.
Since this reference board is Qi-certified, it is compatible with other Qi-certified products and has excellent versatility.
2. Be safe! Foreign objects can be detected before power transmission
An overheat condition can occur if foreign objects, such as metal, get between the transmit and receive coils.
This reference board is equipped with a foreign object detection function (FOD) that detects foreign objects before power transmission, and can be used safely.
3. Convenient! Power receiving side supports both WPC and PMA
It supports both "Qi" recommended by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and "PMA" recommended by the Air Fuel Alliance (former PMA) as an international standard for wireless power reception. can also be used.

BD57020MWV (transmitting side)
The transmission side chip BD57020MWV has a maximum transmission power of 15W, and in combination with a LAPIS Semiconductor microcomputer, a WPC low-power and medium-power transmitter can be configured.
Equipped with a function to detect foreign objects such as metal as standard, it achieves a high level of safety by preventing deformation of the housing and burns during use.
BD57015GWL (receiving side)
The receiving side chip BD57015GWL has a maximum receiving power of 10W. It supports an output voltage of 5 to 12V, and is a variable output voltage in 7 steps.
Wireless power reception supports the following international standards.
- "Qi" recommended by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC)
- "PMA" recommended by the Air Fail Alliance
Since it supports both "Qi" and "PMA", you can use either.
How to quickly start evaluating wireless charging
To power up and start using the reference board, follow the steps below to get started immediately.
1. Supply DC19V to the reference board
When power is supplied, "LED1", which indicates power ON, lights up in green. Furthermore, when the 5V DC/DC converter starts up, "LED2" lights green.
2. Place the receiving board on top of the transmitting board
When medium power supply is established, "LED MP" and "LED LP" on the power transmitting board light up.
*In the case of low power, only "LED LP" lights up.
With just this, wireless power supply starts and evaluation can be started immediately.
