Enjoy the best audio experience with "Qualcomm® Snapdragon Sound™"!

What Qualcomm® Snapdragon Sound™ Is

"Qualcomm® Snapdragon Sound™" (hereafter: Snapdragon Sound) is a new platform that brings together Qualcomm's unique wireless audio-related technologies.

aptX™ Adaptive

Among them, the core is "aptX™ Adaptive" which is the latest codec technology for Bluetooth audio unique to Qualcomm.
It also supports 96kHz/24bit, making it possible to improve each performance important for audio such as "sound quality", "connection stability" and "delay".
In recent years, the number of devices such as smartphones and wireless earphones/headphones has increased.

A function that automatically and seamlessly transitions between "aptX™", "aptX™ HD", and "aptX™ Low Latency" modes while adapting to the use case and environment.

In addition, depending on the environment, we will also migrate to "aptX™ Lossless", which will be introduced next.
Therefore, the user does not have to manually set the mode according to the scene each time, and the optimal audio experience is always possible without any hassle.

aptX™ Lossless

Also includes "aptX™ Lossless".
Original audio codec for Bluetooth that supports lossless transmission up to 44.1kHz/16bit.
In addition, a maximum transfer bit rate of approximately 1.1 Mbps can be realized.
This is a technology included in the above "aptX™ Adaptive", and the bit rate is not fixed, but variable while adapting to the environment.

aptX™ Voice

Also included is the aptX™ Voice technology.
A proprietary codec for voice calls that enables high-quality voice calls over Bluetooth (HFP).
The sampling frequency of the commonly used mSBC is 16kHz, but it is compatible with 32kHz, which is twice that frequency, to achieve high-quality calls.
This function is ideal for users who have increased opportunities for online video calls, such as remote work.

By supporting Snapdragon Sound on both the transmitter side and the receiver side, these functions can be realized.

To support Snapdragon Sound

At Qualcomm's test house, the test will be conducted according to the guidelines.
The Snapdragon Sound logo is given to devices that have passed all target test items and have been confirmed to be compatible.
The logo will be printed on the package or product.
Also, for mobile devices, the logo is displayed in a pop-up when paired (connected) with a compatible device.
Basically, compatible devices are connected as Snapdragon Sound, so users can unintentionally experience this function.

At the end

Until now, audio devices and wireless earphones have been positioned as "nice to have" for many people.
However, after the pandemic caused by COVID-19, it is being used not only for enjoying music, but also for various purposes such as remote work and gaming. I think the position has changed to something like

And I think that there are many people who are concerned about performance such as sound quality and delay, and are particular about it.

Please touch and experience "Snapdragon Sound" that solves such thoughts.
