Wallbox, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, is a global smart charging company that designs and manufactures electric vehicle charging solutions. The new Quasar charger is the first two-way DC charger for home use. It's the lightest and smallest charger of its kind and will revolutionize the way we use and store energy, whether you're powering your home with an electric car or selling energy to the grid. The Quasar Charger was awarded Endgaget's "Best of CES" in 2020, as well as three other major awards.

Wallbox chargers, like the myWallbox platform, are designed to make it easy for consumers to charge their electric vehicles, helping them maximize the potential electric vehicles bring to people, businesses and cities. It is The Quasar Charger's bi-directional charging not only allows electric vehicle batteries to be used to power homes and offices, but also allows the energy to be fed back to the grid during periods of high power demand. Wallbox needed overall efficiency based on reduced power loss and a smaller charger size to achieve maximum power performance.

To support the need for maximum efficiency with low losses at high speed switching, Wallbox employed two Qorvo SiC FET devices.

Qorvo's device helped improve efficiency and losses by30%reduce in the Quasar's power stage. This loss reduction allows Wallbox to lower internal temperatures and improve system reliability and longevity. It also didn't increase the size of the heatsink required.
