A seminar dedicated to SMPTE ST 2110 will be held!
In this article, we will introduce the online seminar "Software implementation example of the latest standard for IP video transmission SMPTE 2110- Explanation with demonstration -" held on January 20, 2022.
Along with the evolution of technology, IP (Video over IP) for video data transmission is progressing, and "de-SDI", which is freed from dedicated broadcasting equipment and standards, is spreading. Furthermore, the method of realizing the functions of broadcasting equipment with"software"on a general-purpose server is currently attracting attention.
However, IP knowledge is necessary to realize the softwareization of broadcasting equipment. Many hurdles must be overcome during construction and implementation.
In this seminar, Macnica Media Streaming (M2S) Solution, which solves these problems, was introduced in detail using a demonstration video of an implementation example using SMPTE ST 2110, the latest standard for IP video transmission.
State of demo video
The M2S (Macnica Media Streaming) Solution introduced this time uses NVIDIA 's ConnextX adapter card, M2S Library for middleware, and open sources such as GStreamer. You have seen the configuration of both the side and the receiving side.

In the seminar, we explained the products used in the solution, and then introduced examples of implementation in software that actually used them.
