With the expansion of the EV (electric vehicle) market, batteries installed in vehicles are becoming higher voltage and larger in capacity, and the functions required of battery management systems (BMS) are also becoming more sophisticated. In addition, automotive manufacturers are increasingly using common platforms to efficiently develop a variety of vehicle models.
This video explains the trends in the EV market and the latest needs for BMS, and introduces Nuvoton Technology's 4th generation battery monitoring chipset. It describes the features of the solution, which combines a battery monitoring IC with a high-precision ADC, a communication IC, and a pack monitoring IC (PM-IC) that performs current measurement and control monitoring.
This presentation will also cover technological concepts that support EV platform development and battery life extension, as well as product strategies to address the increasing complexity of BMS development. This content is recommended for those considering the design of EV battery systems or the development of next-generation BMS.
