hello.

My name is Intel F. Hanako and I provide technical support for Intel® FPGA products at Macnica.

Configuration is indispensable for operating FPGA, but what do you do when it is not successful?
Pins related to configuration are determined by “target device family” and “configuration mode”. And those signals have a “fixed sequence” that they fail to follow.

Intel FPGA configuration schemes primarily include:

  • active serial
  • active parallel
  • passive serial
  • passive parallel

[Reference] Correspondence table of configuration schemes supported by each family of FPGA

This time, we will focus on active serial (AS) configuration among configuration schemes.

Check with check sheet

Let's organize the current situation with this check sheet in order to investigate the cause when a problem occurs in the AS configuration of the FPGA.

[ Target device family ]

  • Stratix® Series: Stratix® V, Stratix® IV
  • Arria® Series: Arria® 10, Arria® V, Arria® II
  • Cyclone® Series: Cyclone® 10, Cyclone® V, Cyclone® IV
