Overview
A highly integrated 60GHz mmWave radar sensor with small size and low power consumption can acquire not only simple motion sensing but also distance and angle information, providing added value to many applications.
All 60GHz millimeter-wave radar sensors are size-optimized and delivered in an antenna-in-package.
Characteristics of 24GHz radar technology and 60GHz radar technology
In the 24GHz band, the bandwidth over which FMCW radar operates is 200MHz within the regulated ISM band. The 60GHz band allows unlicensed use of ultra-wideband up to 7GHz for narrow range applications. This means that FMCW radar systems at 60 GHz can achieve higher resolution, enabling further use cases such as human tracking and segmentation. Radar technology with micro-motion detection enables gesture control, material sorting, or monitoring of various vital functions (respiration, heart rate, and even blood pressure).
