We recommend the CY8CKIT-042-BLE Pioneer Kit and the dedicated CySmart app, which are convenient for Bluetooth Smart development!

Analyze transfer data for BLE peripherals with CySmart

The CY8CKIT-042-BLE Pioneer Kit includes a BLE host dongle (CY5670 CySmart) that can be connected to a PC. The CY5670 CySmart has a central emulation tool called CySmart, which is great for analyzing BLE peripheral transfer data on a PC.

The screen below shows the transfer data of the BLE peripheral set in the GATT profile (Find Me).
A Find Me profile is a profile used to locate devices by alarm, vibration, light, etc.

Now let's assume we're looking for a device and change the alert level.
You can easily change alert levels using CySmart.

Introducing the CY8CKIT-042-BLE Pioneer Kit

Article header pioneer kit 1

The CY8CKIT042BLE provided by Cypress is a kit that allows you to easily develop and evaluate BLE based on PSoC4.

This kit includes BLE module boards CY8CKIT-142, CY5671, a base board connecting these two BLE module boards, and a BLE host dongle (CY5670 CySmart), which is a PSoC feature electrostatic sensor and analog, digital customization can be supported.
We also provide BLE host dongle dedicated and iOS compatible applications, so you can evaluate BLE with this kit alone.

What is the difference between CY8CKIT-142 and CY5671?

CY8CKIT-042-BLE comes with two boards, CY8CKIT-142 and CY5671. What is the difference between the two, I will briefly explain the difference.

The small red board in the top center of the photo above is the CY8CKIT-142 PSoC 4 BLE Module. This board has a CY8C4247LQI-BL483 BLE device.
Also, the small black board on the right of CY8CKIT-142 is the CY5671 PRoC BLE Module. Contains the CYBL10563-56LQXI PRoC BLE device.

Both devices have ARM Cortex-M0 as the core, built-in flash 128KB, SRAM 16KB, MCU and BLE basic specifications are the same, but there are differences in analog functions. Is CY8C4247LQI-BL483 more functionally rich?

Main difference CY8C4247LQI-BL483 (red board) CYBL10563-56LQXI (black substrate)

I thought the CySmart tool would be useful, so I introduced it this time.
