What is QUNOG?
QUNOG stands for Kyushu Okinawa Network Operators Group (pronounced kyu-no-gu), and is a group whose purpose is to contribute to engineers and users in the Kyushu and Okinawa region by discussing, examining, and introducing technical and operational matters related to the Internet in the Kyushu and Okinawa region.
QUNOG 29 Meeting in Saga
The 29th QUNOG 29 Meeting was held on July 19, 2024 at Saga University in Saga City, Saga Prefecture. Although it was a very hot day near the end of the rainy season, nearly 100 people participated on-site.
Program Announcement
The following eight programs were presented at QUNOG29. The program contents included information about the streaming services that were available on the day, as well as initiatives and activities to support young people in the Kyushu and Okinawa regions.

In the program presentation entitled "The great difficulties encountered when trying to transmit 200km between Nagasaki, Saga and Fukuoka using 400G-IPo DWDM," the Company employees took to the stage together with Internet Multifeed and Nagasaki Cable Media to make a presentation.
The presentation included findings from verification tests of 400G transmission using optical transceivers compliant with the OIF 400G ZR and Open ZR+ standards, and an optical fiber transmission network stretching approximately 200 km across Nagasaki, Saga, and Fukuoka prefectures.
In addition to the exchange of opinions during the presentations, some participants spoke directly to us after the presentations, allowing for lively technical exchange.

At the end of the program, the next QUNOG was announced. The next QUNOG30 is scheduled to be held in Fukuoka on October 18, 2024.
