PoE controller that can simultaneously provide 10Gbps and 71.3W power supply with a single cable

The "LTC4291/LTC4292" chipset is a PoE controller provided by Analog Devices. PoE stands for Power Over Ethernet, and it is possible to supply power via Ethernet.

1. Supply power of up to 71.3W with a single LAN cable

The LTC4292/LTC4291 can deliver up to 71.3W with a single LAN cable.

Therefore, conventional PoE (12.95W to maximum 25.5W) could only supply power to surveillance cameras and wireless access points, but it can also supply power to industrial equipment, measurement equipment, network equipment, etc.

The LTC4292/LTC4291 supports PoE++.

2. Backward compatibility allows coexistence with traditional PoE

The LTC4292/LTC4291 support the existing existing PoE standards IEEE802.3af, IEEE802.3at.

3. Achieves the lowest level of heat generation in the industry

Conventional switching hubs did not have many heat generation problems, but as PoE has been introduced in recent years, heat generation has become a major problem.

In particular, PoE++ can supply large currents, so it is important to deal with heat generation.

However, the LTC4292/LTC4291 utilizes low ON-resistance external MOSFETs and 0.15Ω shunt resistors for each power channel to achieve the industry's lowest heat dissipation.

4. Temperature range is -40~85℃, can be used for industrial applications

The LTC4291/LTC4292 has an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Therefore, it can be used safely in industrial equipment.

Traditional PoE designs require up to six optocouplers and a complex isolated 3.3V power supply. However, the LTC4291/LTC4292 can communicate with each other over a low cost Ethernet transformer.
