Autonomous fleets for every industry
A wide range of fields, including logistics, industry, and public transportation, are facing challenges such as driver shortages and rising operating costs. To address these issues, vehicle OEMs are focusing on the development of autonomous driving vehicles, particularly passenger cars and buses, for the purpose of transporting people.
However, because the uses of autonomous driving vehicles are so diverse, it is difficult to meet all needs with vehicles designed solely for human use. Developing an autonomous driving vehicle specifically for each use is inefficient, and as a result, this is one of the factors delaying the introduction of autonomous driving technology.
Automated transport for all industries - Applied EV's vision
Applied EV was founded with the mission of bringing innovation to the transportation industry.
"Digital Backbone™" develops a vehicle electrical architecture platform that enables SDVs.
Based on this core technology, we have jointly developed with a major Japanese automobile manufacturer the "Blanc Robot™," a vehicle platform that can be used for a variety of purposes, from transporting luggage to industrial applications.
AppliedEV's Technology Core: SDV Platform Supporting Automated Transport
"Digital Backbone™"
"Digital Backbone™" is a vehicle electrical architecture platform that enables SDV.
We are developing a platform to realize Software Defined Vehicles, including duplexing control ECUs to enhance vehicle control robustness and building APIs for vehicle control and monitoring.
"Blanc Robot™"
Using "Digital Backbone™" as its core technology, Blanc Robot has developed a multi-purpose electric trolley. Since its founding, the company has evolved its trolley platform, and the current sixth generation (current) was developed in collaboration with a major Japanese automobile manufacturer. Based on a mass-produced vehicle platform, it has significantly reduced production costs, enabled mass production, and improved the reliability and durability of the vehicle.
"Blanc Robot" is a tabletop EV vehicle with no cabin, and has no steering wheel or accelerator or brake pedals. It is controlled by the autonomous driving software installed on it, making it compatible with Level 4 autonomous driving. The concept is to change the loading platform and autonomous driving software depending on the application at the site, so it is possible to efficiently develop autonomous driving vehicles tailored to individual applications in fields such as logistics and industry using "Blanc Robot" as a base vehicle.
partnership
Based on the knowledge Macnica has gained from its work on automated transport in factories and autonomous driving buses, it is possible to select and integrate the sensors and autonomous driving algorithms required for autonomous driving, thereby tailoring Blanc Robot to suit individual workplaces.
In addition, by linking with "everfleet," a fleet management system developed by Macnica, it supports smooth operations.
Macnica will provide autonomous driving vehicle solutions optimized for each site by providing consistent support, from integration tailored to on-site needs to operational support after implementation.
Flexible autonomous driving vehicles that can be optimized for each site
There is growing demand for the introduction of autonomous driving technology in a variety of fields, including construction sites, in-factory logistics, and last-mile delivery. However, the items being transported at each site differ, which in turn means different operational procedures, and the required vehicle configurations and solutions also vary greatly.
To meet these diverse needs, Blanc Robot offers its products as a vehicle platform, which is designed to be flexibly adaptable to the requirements of each site, such as by changing the loading platform or replacing the autonomous driving software.
A globally recognized automated transport platform
Applied EV is the recipient of numerous internationally recognized and prestigious business and technology awards.
Q&A
A. In order to drive on public roads in Japan, an autonomous driving L4 certification is required. At present, it is difficult to drive on all public roads, but Macnica will support you in obtaining L4 certification in limited areas.
A. The total load capacity is up to 1000 kg. If equipment is installed on the base vehicle according to the site, the weight of that equipment will also be included in the load capacity.
A. It can travel at a maximum speed of 80km/h.
