NTT West Group x Macnica Alliance and new challenges in the autonomous driving field
NTT West Group and Macnica have begun a partnership to implement autonomous driving services in society, with the aim of solving social issues such as a decrease in route bus service due to a shortage of drivers, which is a concern due to the 2024 problem. In this lecture, top executives from both companies will talk about the background to the partnership in the autonomous driving field and their vision for co-creation.

Future prospects for the social implementation of next-generation regional transportation systems
NTT West Group and Macnica aim to contribute to the resolution of social issues and regional revitalization through the social implementation of autonomous driving services, as well as to realize the digital garden city nation concept proposed by the government. In this lecture, business managers from both companies will introduce future prospects for the realization of social implementation of next-generation regional transportation systems.

Implementation process and usage of autonomous driving in urban development
Macnica and the NTT West Group are fully supporting the social implementation of autonomous driving in local governments. In this lecture, we will explain the latest trends in autonomous driving, requirements for implementation, how to proceed, and how to utilize it in urban development. We will also introduce know-how on utilizing various subsidized projects, including specific procedures and examples.

Creating local vibrancy with smart small mobility
In this lecture, we will introduce a autonomous driving small personal mobility service that is useful for promoting the tourism industry by taking advantage of regional characteristics and supporting the first quarter mile movement of elderly and disabled people. In addition, we will explain the issues and future prospects for building a sustainable business model from five perspectives: technology, systems, human resources, business viability, and social acceptance.

Towards next-generation mobility implementation and MaaS creation in Yokkaichi City
Currently, in Yokkaichi City, in line with the dawn of the linear era, the city center is reorganizing the street space in the 70m wide and 1.6km long section of Chuo Dori, which connects Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station and JR Yokkaichi Station, to station plazas and city parks. A variety of projects are underway, including the reorganization of Yokkaichi Bus Terminal and a new library, and the redevelopment of JR Yokkaichi Station, including the bid to attract a university.
Taking advantage of these large-scale infrastructure changes, we have formulated the Yokkaichi Smart Region Core Action Plan to realize a smart city in the central city area, and are promoting the implementation of next-generation mobility and the creation of MaaS through industry-government-academia collaboration. I am.
In addition, since fiscal 2020, we have been conducting a series of social experiments with the aim of creating vibrancy in the region by utilizing autonomous driving and personal mobility, and we would like to introduce our efforts to date and future prospects in Yokkaichi City.
