Silicon Labs EFM32: Is there any way to revert the starter kit to non-mbed?
The control firmware of the starter kit can be updated. Simplicity Studio includes the latest firmware, and if the version of the control firmware on the starter kit is older than that, it can be updated when Kit Manager is started. Using this function, it is possible to make a non-mbed starter kit compatible with mbed. For the detailed work procedure, please refer to "EFM32 Seminar Instructor Yama-san's Bag of Wisdom - Support for mbed in the Starter Kit".
Conversely, to return a starter kit that supports mbed to non-support, you will need the old control firmware (attached zip) that is not included in the latest Simplicity Studio. Attached zip is control firmware for WG, GG, LG, HG, ZG starter kit.

Starter kit control firmware (for WG, GG, LG, HG, ZG)
1. Start Simplicity Studio, connect the starter kit and let it recognize it.
2. Start Kit Manager.
3. From Browse.., select S1014_common_stk_firmware_package_0v9p16b546.emz in the attached zip and execute Install Package. Rewriting takes about 30 to 60 seconds.
4. When you restart Kit Manager, you will be asked if you want to update to the latest control firmware, so you will know that you have reverted to the old control firmware (mbed not supported).
