Intel: When I launch Quartus® Prime, I sometimes get the error message Can't connect to the Intel FPGA website to check for updates. Why?

When Quartus® Prime starts, it will contact the Intel website to check if there is a newer version than what is installed.
This setting is the default, so if you launch Quartus® Prime with default settings and no internet connection, you will get this error message.
You can suppress this error message by setting the following:
Uncheck Check the Intel web site for new Quartus Prime information in Tools menu ⇒ General ⇒ Internet Connectivity Startup
Note that even with this error message, you can still use Quartus® Prime for FPGA development.
